New today...

-Sticking his tongue out: Wessy has done this for a long time, but today he started opening his mouth and sticking his tongue out further than ever before.  He looks like a Kiss band member.  He will hold it there for several seconds.  We are wondering where he learned it from--Geraldine swears she didn't teach him.  I didn't either.  Perhaps his big brudder?
-Eating my face: Today at lunch Wessy started gumming my cheeks.  At first I thought it might be a misguided attempt at a kiss, but then Geraldine filled me in.  Apparently Wessy has been doing this thing for a few days where he will dive-bomb your face with his little gums and try to chew on your cheeks.  It seems he has learned this from his father, who does the same thing to him.
-Snuggliness: Wessy is often too wiggly to be snuggly, but he has of late stepped up his hugging game.  Lately when he is tired he will lay his head on my shoulder and bury his face in my neck.  Sometimes accompanied by a little sigh. I don't know if there is a better feeling in the world.
-Sitting up: He continues to hone his skillz.  He is wobbly and untrustworthy on his own, but he is improving day-by-day.

Since I am usually the one behind the camera, we get a preponderance of Wessy n Daddy pics.  Today Stevo grabbed the camera and we got some of me and Wessy.

Even moar hiking

Did I mention in our previous post about hiking last Saturday that we ALSO went hiking on Sunday? Well, we did.  And you'll never guess where we went!

Anyway, we had our friend Jimmy in town and we had to show him the most beautiful place around so...Hood Mountain.  It was a gorgeous day, never mind the freak hail storm that came upon us about 2/3 of the way into the hike (see pics).




Because Jimmy was with us, we were able to capture some never-before-seen photos of us as a whole family out hiking.  Wessy was, of course, thrilled with the whole situation.  He did not seem to mind the hail storm one bit.  He loves hiking. And WE love hiking with him.

Such a big boy

A certain little someone has learned to sit up by himself, just like humans do.  He can stay balanced like this, giant bobble head and all, for about 60 seconds before listing to one side or the other or possibly tilting forward and face-planting.  He has no personal interest in sitting up (his mama arranges him like that), but once there will stay in that position due to the ability to examine his own feet.  Observe the proportions and admire what a feat it is for him to hold that head up:
