-Tonight we went out for a quick dinner before Stevo went to work. We forgot that Montse had fed Wessy earlier and so we ordered him a kid's burrito. Welp, guess who ate the entire thing plus some rice and beans too despite already eating a complete dinner?
-Wessy got into preschool! We were sweating bullets wondering how we were going to break into the hyper competitive world of San Francisco parenting, so this is a relief. He'll start a part-time Spanish-immersion nature-based program in the fall. Is that enough hyphens?
-Wessy went to his first gymnastics (i use that term loosely) today. I was at work, but by all reports he had a blast and was more or less beside himself with excitement due to the ball pit.
-Wessy also starts soccer class on Thursday. Spanish-immersion soccer class. I am really eager to see how the hell these people intend to teach toddlers to play soccer. This is as close as you can get to herding cats without actual cats involved and there will probably be a lot more crying, too.
-When we walked into a bathroom stall the other day, Wessy automatically said, "NO TOQUES NADA! [DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!]" So apparently he does listen to me sometimes.
-Over the last several months, we have become accustomed to putting Wessy to bed by first laying on the sofa in his room with him in our arms and letting him fall asleep. Then, we will gently transfer him to his crib. Over the last week or so, however, he is having none of it. If you try to cuddle with him on the couch, he will say CUNA! (CRIB!). He will continue saying DOWN MAMA CUNA MAMA until you put him his crib and he can happily congregate with Mucky (blanket), Cal, Ashby and the Stinson the Foca. Then he will fall asleep babbling contentedly with his friends.
